Out of Canada and Cambridge comes a new rock band, COjiE.

COjiE: the youthful energy and charisma of Canadian singer-songwriter, Mark Gendron, with the seasoned experience of three British musicians, Steve Stewart, Phil Nicholl and Al Cooper.

Frontman, Mark, is from Montreal where he was prominent in the vibrant band scene. Moving to London a year ago, Mark began working the ‘open mic’ circuit. A connection to Al Cooper and Steve Stewart resulted in a studio project, out of which came COjiE.

Steve Stewart cut his teeth as the original guitarist with the seminal rock band, The Enid, while Al Cooper, drums, was a member of Katrina and The Waves ('Walking On Sunshine'). Phil Nicholl, bass, has played with various acts from Spizz Energi to Nick Heyward. Steve, Al and Phil are all based around Cambridge.

The band have been in the studio writing for a few months and the result is an individual sound that is at the same time NOW whilst tipping its hat to the classic rock acts.

COjiE: tall and dark, with a hint of purple.
