Win CD design and printing!

When you're trying to get noticed in a scene as broad as music, it's hard to stand out from the crowd. Deadage Design and CambridgeBands.com announce a competition offering up-and-coming new bands a chance to make an impact with 100 professionally printed and duplicated demo CDs designed by Deadage Design. This is a great prize and is worth £250 and is well worth your time to enter….

To enter, what we’re asking you to do is this: The competition closing date is May 1st 2008. [THIS HAS BEEN EXTENDED - WE'RE NOW TAKING ENTRIES UNTIL MAY 21] Pick a historical event on this date (For example, take a look at the Wikipedia page for this date:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_1), then write and record a song inspired by, or about this subject! That’s all… Songs will be judged on lyrical and musical content (not on production – so basic recordings are fine as long as we can understand you) by CambridgeBands.com and Deadage, and we’re happy to publish entries on the CambridgeBands.com website if you so wish.

Submit either a recording of your song to by email (no more than 10MB please!), or provide a link where we can download it. Also please provide the topic of the song and the lyrics. The email address to send entries and inquiries to is: design_competition@cambridgebands.com

Demo CDs will be printed on CD and 1-page inlay and will be professionally designed by Deadage to your specifications and approved before printing. Perfect for sending for review or sale at gigs... You are not obliged to add the song written for the competition on the CD, though you can if you want :)

A band from Cambridge, called "Parallelogram" has kindly provided a demonstration entry. Their song loosely based in the formation of the illuminati is one example of what we're looking for. Though we will consider music of any type or genre as long as there is live instrumentation in it.

You can download the song "Illuminati" from Parallogram's profile page
