Anyone up for starting a Rock band?

Hey,

Basically I'm a guitarist looking to get jamming regularly with a new group of people, and see how it goes. I'm up for writing original songs or playing covers, or both... but at the moment I mostly play covers. Perhaps playing a few pub gigs would be cool, but I'm fine with just jamming, etc.

I like Rock, metal and blues, and generally most guitar music as long as there's a solo here or there, or a bit (or a lot) of distortion :-)
I'm not into these new types of hardcore metal like grindcore or screamo...

I'm 28 and based in Huntingdon but work in Cambridge, have my own transport and my own gear... Been playing enough years to play more than Smoke on the Water, but I'm no Steve Vai... yet :-D
