Classic Rock Vocalist Wanted
Are you a fan of classic rock, from 50s and 60s stuff through to present-day bands? Do you like singing songs by people like Pink, Janis Joplin, Bad Company, Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, etc.? And are you prepared to do some regular gigging and practices? If so, give us a call.
Our band is called the Stonebreakers, and we have a website which is
http://www.stonebreakers.co.uk The band has been around for a number of years now, so we've got a massive repertoire, full PA, a seriously tight band (with backing vocals) and gigs booked in spring and summer. All we need is a lead singer to pick up the torch and carry on. We also have a bunch of demo recordings which are in need of a lead singer to overdub vocals.
We're quite happy for anyone new to pick and choose which songs in our repertoire they're comfortable with. Initially of course it's going to be a case of getting up to speed on stuff the rest of the band already knows, because that's going to get us ready quicker for forthcoming gigs. However we do want someone with their own ideas, so we will happily pick up anything you fancy playing and see whether we can make it work. We're also looking at doing some writing, so that's another element to consider too. And if you happen to play an instrument too, that's a definite bonus.
The band currently meets every Wednesday at Cotton Hall in Girton (north-west Cambridge). If this is inconvenient for potential singers then there should be no problems moving to other evenings and/or other venues. As a singer it's not essential to be there every week - initially of course we'd like you to get up to speed on the material ASAP, but after that it may not be so important, so if you don't think you can make every week then we can compromise on this.
If you're still reading after all this, you might want to know how to get hold of us. This site is one way. Alternatively email us at thestonebreakers|
