Guitarists/Bassist/Drummer needed for new Cambridge Indie Rock/Post Rock Band 1, 2, 3...Retreat!
My name is Chris, I’m 30, I’m looking for serious musicians to form a new 4 or 5 piece indie rock/post rock band, based in Cambridge, potentially called 1, 2, 3...Retreat!!!
I’ve played in and fronted a few bands and once ran a recording studio, so I have lots of live and recording experience and have also done some producing. At the moment I mostly listen to Sonic Youth, Mars Volta, Bright Eyes, Built to Spill, Bon Iver, Tom Waits, The Cure, DCFC, Slint, Modest Mouse, QoTSA, Mogwai, American Men, Mew, Wilco, Elbow, 65 Days of Static among others, all of whom no doubt influence my music in some way. You can hear a couple of my songs recorded in rehearsal with my last band a few years ago (but we never got off the ground with them, so they are rough) at
www.123retreat.co.uk,
myspace.com/123retreat or www.123retreat/
bandcamp.com.
I have two musical ambitions which are to record an album (and hopefully release it), and to play Glastonbury. My main aim though, realistically, is to enjoy what we do and take it as far as it goes. I am not looking for a band to play tiny gigs with crap equipment in front of five friends for the sake of it, although we may reluctantly have to start there.
I have a host of songs ready but am happy to share writing duties. I’m open to the line-up of the band but would ideally like another Guitar, Bass, Drums and some keys, in any combination really and multi instrumentalists/instrument swapping would be great.
If you like the sound of this project, are capable and creative with your instrument, have your own equipment and are happy to be serious and rehearse weekly then please get in touch and we can meet up and have a chat/play some music and see where it goes.
