Major site update just happened

Hey all,

I've just installed a major site update....

Lots of stuff has happened. Firstly the forums have been closed and have been replaced by a small number of board hosted on the main site. You can still access and view the old forum, but you can no longer post messages there. Your forum logins have not been imported to this part of the site.

These have been called "Bands Wanted", "News" and "Musicians Wanted". If you want are searching for a band to play in, you can now register to this site as an individual, and post a message on the "Musicians Wanted" board. Similarly, if you have a band and are looking for a new member, you can post to the same forum. These boards will soon send messages to every member of CambridgeBands.com.

If you are looking for a band to play your gig, perhaps you've had someone pull out at short notice, you can post to our "Bands Wanted" board.

The other major change is that the links pages have been removed and the links have been imported as users, so if you had a link here, you can reset your password and keep us updated with news of your resource.

This applies particularly to venues, who's accounts are treated in a special way. If you are registered as a Venue, your name appears in the drop down box on the "Add gig" pages. You now have a page which displays any gigs which have been added by anyone that appear at your venue.

There's also been loads of small changes, software upgrades and testingm, such as better support for non-English characters etc which will make the site a much smoother use.
